Many juvenile NCL patients have now reached adulthood. This is due in part to improved artificial feeding. Because a paediatrician may no longer officially treat these young patients, neurologists are confronted with a disease that is new to them. Therefore the NCL Foundation is trying to educate this group of specialists as well.

 

For example, the NCL information sheet was placed in the "roaming library" for neurologists. In addition, Prof. Ludolph (University Hospital Ulm) could be persuaded to publish an article in a journal. Appearing in "Nervenarzt" at the beginning of 2007 was the article "Neuronal ceroid lipofuscinoses in adulthood" (Gdynia, H.-J., Sperfeld, A.-D., and Ludolph, A. C.).
