Charity Concert of the German Physician’s Orchestra
When the world sinks into oblivion – at the beginning and at the end of life…
…is the theme to which the German Physicians will perform for the second time on Saturday 17 October 2009 in aid of the “Alzheimer Gesellschaft Hamburg e.V.” and the NCL-Foundation. The concert will take place in the Hauptkirche St.Petri (St.Petri Church) at 7 pm and is under the patronage of Hamburg’s mayor Ole von Beust
“Brahms-Requiem” and “Hindemith Trauermusik” for viola and orchestra will be played for a good cause.

The 150 members of the German Physician’s Orchestra and Choir are predominantly physicians of all specialisations that voluntarily play in the orchestra and thereby participate in the combating of diseases. The orchestra was founded in 1989 by extraordinarily talented physicians and members of affiliated professions. In the intervening years numerous symphonic concerts and oratorios have been performed (e.g. Matthäus-Passion 1998, Carmina Burana 2005, J.S. Bach Weihnachtsoratorium 2007).
Tickets for this classic event are issued at the NCL-Foundation (Tel.: 040 69 666 740), at the Konzertkasse Gerdes (Tel.: 040/45 33 26 oder 040/44 02 98, www.konzertkassegerdes.de) and other common ticket agencies. There will also be tickets available at the box office.
