Anniversary American Barbecue by the Hamburg Marriott Hotel in aid of the NCL Foundation

On Saturday 19 May 2007 the Hamburg Marriott Hotel celebrated the 80-year anniversary of Marriott International with a big birthday barbecue in aid of the NCL Foundation. The total income of € 8,300 goes to the NCL Foundation, the long-term "Spirit-to-Serve" partner of the Hamburg Marriott Hotel.

 

The party atmosphere was friendly and relaxed on the summer terrace of the Hamburg Marriott Hotel, ABC-Strasse 52. After the welcoming speeches by the General Manager of the Hamburg Marriott Hotel, Roland Ulmer, and by Dr. Frank Husemann, children released 250 balloons in the sky "for a good cause". The online travel portal opodo.de supported the event with "Balloon kilometer money": A card with the address of the foundation was fixed to each balloon. As soon as a finder returns the card Opodo donates 80 cent per kilometer traveled to the NCL Foundation.

 

The focal point of the big birthday barbecue was on the 80 - for 80 Cent, a portion of Chili con Carne, prepared according to the original recipe of the former "Hot Shoppe" -  the gastronomic origin of the company. This was also rounded off with beer and ice cream as desert for only 80 cents each. Furthermore, there was a tombola with over 500 attractive prizes and overnight vouchers as well as a colorful programme with children's care and live music with Joshua Carson and the band Blue Café as well as various performances by the "Dancing Cowboys" and the musical star Stefanie Kock.
