Learning Computers for NCL Children: Cooperation with the McDonald’s Children’s Aid Foundation
Since the beginning of 2007, the McDonald’s Children’s Aid Foundation has been generously supporting the NCL Foundation’s health care research into NCL. Due to funding from McDonald’s in the amount of nearly €50,000, the NCL Foundation was able to purchase a total of 20 learning computers to be used in blind schools nationwide.
On September 8th 2007, the pilot school, the Blind and Sight-Impaired School in Borgweg in Hamburg, tested out the first teacher training session focused on learning the framework for tackling the problem of structure. The introduction of the software named Sarepta in 2011 was graciously supported by the Griebel Foundation.
On June 15th and 16th 2012, the Blind School in Borgweg in Hamburg will once more be offering training for Sarepta. Interested parents, teachers, and caregivers are welcome to contact us with inquiries.
